The Moralist
Self Inquiry for the Moralist
Which of your recent actions may have given others the impression that you are trapped in the role of the Moralist?
In what ways did your intentions express genuine idealistic Hope?
If feeling resentful and Mean also played a part, what is its story?
Remaining a Moralist will continue to hold a place for both idealism and resentment to act in blindness of the other.
If being a Moralist is no longer serving your purpose in life, you may exchange it by adopting the Mood of Discernment into your Personal Menagerie.
When it arises, the voice of Discernment in me has this to say ……….
Animal Mood Evolutions
Mean Toad
evolves to become
Spiteful Toad
Picky Squirrel
ev
olves to become
Discerning Squirrel
Hopeful Fawn
evolves to become
Optimistic Fawn
If you are ruled by the Imperative to BE GOOD, inhabiting the Moralist Persona is especially appealing. Within yourself, you will find the Hopeful Fawn and Mean Toad existing in ignorance to one another. It is the power of the Moralist that keeps these two Moods hidden from one another.
Offering grand bids of faith proffers little benefit to others so long as you remain ignorant of your ill intents.
It is the spirit of the Picky Squirrel that guides toward a more balanced mode of expression between these opposing impulses. Being direct about your own fussy opinions, slows down the self righteous positivity of Fawn and brings Toad’s hidden knives out for all to see. By admitting the personal agenda disguised within the platitudes of the Hopeful and Mean parts of yourself, you allow the transformation of both.
As Hope evolves into Optimism (Fawn), Mean energies can tend to gravitate toward Spitefulness (Toad). Pickyness evolves as well to counter Toad through the development of true Discernment (Squirrel). Discerning false from true at the outset, takes the blinders off of your Optimism and disarms your Spiteful reactions when things don’t turn out as hoped for. The quest for a life of Resolve requires an honest and well modulated balance between your transcendent ideals and your underlying personal preferences.
