Five TELs of the Head

Our TELS of the Head control our innate experience of Time or speed. Below we explore the five Head TELs of Fear that can take over our bodies, each transporting us into a State Experience.

  • Throughout our conscious life, our bodies are capable of blending multiple core states and expressing them in complicated mixtures we call Moods. Occasionally our conscious experiences will take a pause and we will find ourselves absorbed in one overpowering instinctual state. These State experiences (pleasant or unpleasant) can remind us quickly that we are physical beings utterly beholden to our primitive instincts. We experience these moments less like an emotion and more like an ever present, environmental circumstance.

One big indicator that we are entering a State Experience is that whatever is happening feels like it has ALWAYS been that way and will NEVER change.

In FERUS TEL each State Experience is identified as a TEL and is displayed in the form of a graphic image.

State Experience of REALIZATION

When Fear is resolved, there comes a precious sensation of timelessness. Since Fear is the instinct that holds us back from fully experiencing life, the dissolution of fear marks a grand opportunity to embrace the actual world as it is. The view may not always be beautiful but, without fear, it is taken in with unrestrained immersion.

State Experience of AWE

When enticed by feelings of Fear, there is an abundance of magical energy brewing. Signs of Danger are most definitely present but they have simply lost their spell of dangerousness. The sense of unpressured safety is all the more exciting in that there is no guarantee that this magic will last.

Moods that are Accepting of Fear

State Experience of DISGUST

When fully avoiding the feeling of Fear, there is a sense of being split into multiple parts. Unwilling to fully experience one’s own fear can make one especially sensitive to the fear in others. The mind gets extraordinarily busy positing alternate routes but for whatever reason the path to a fear free world remains blocked. The call to flee is clear as a bell and it takes all of one’s skill to cover one’s apertures in disgust.

Moods that are Rejecting of Fear

State Experience of CONFUSION

This state of high reactivity to Fear brings attention into high alert. Confusion can be revealed in the heedless speed of an otherwise perfectly healthy performance. It’s the shallow breathing that gives you away each time. Eyes dilated to large round saucers, there is no hiding the way your hands tremble and shoulders flinch at unexpected noises. Since it is a difficult state to sustain for long, the urge to take immediate action becomes imperative.

Moods that are Reactive to Fear

State Experience of HORROR

When experiencing Fear at its most overwhelming, people are driven to both their best and worst Moods. Surprisingly, people who feel “horrifically passionate” may find special affinity with those feeling “horrifyingly inferior”. The state of overwhelming horror can be experienced as fear’s best and final solution. The wall of accumulated Confusion meets its match in a time stopping moment of decision. Desperate acts signal the body has collapsed into victimhood, while also offering an opportunity for change; perhaps to release and reset one’s entire organism towards health, or to issue a last full throated howl before succumbing to life’s worst.
